ABOUT
Sam Richardson
Hailing from the rugged north coast of Cornwall, Sam Richardson is a soaring roots-rock artist. His music evokes the timeless power of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers, while drawing modern comparisons to Sam Fender, Gang of Youths, and The War on Drugs. His work represents the beginning of act two, stepping out of the innocence of youth and into the unfiltered reality of adulthood. These songs explore love, loss, regret, and the resilience that keeps us moving forward, reminding us that we often pay a price for chasing what we desire
.
Hand-picked by Michael Eavis to support Wolf Alice and Supergrass on Worthy Farm, Sam has built a formidable reputation on the big stage. Alongside his live band, Sam Richardson and The Renegades, he opened the 50,000 capacity Main Stage at Boardmasters for Sam Fender and Foals. Following a 23-date national theatre tour as the solo support for Newton Faulkner, the full band returned to the stage to open for the legendary Bryan Adams in front of 15,000 people.
